Open an Acrobat .PDX (adobe reader index) based on Windows File Association instead of downloading?

I have downloaded a zip file from IBM that contains 100's of PDF files along with an index (.pdx). When I attempt to open the .pdx from windows explorer it opens in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC but when I attempt to open it via the Chrome browser, the browser wants to download the file.

I'm opening using file:///d:/dir/pdfs/index.pdx

Thank you for your help

Hi Lionel Dyck,

Other browsers behave the same as Chrome as well, but I guess this feature can be useful. Please send a feature request to Chrome developers directly like this:
  1. Click menu icon and go to Help > Report an issue.
  2. Send your feedback!
They cannot reply to all messages individually, but rest assured that they read all of them!

Tips for writing feedback to any organization: talk about how to improve something and why it will help others too, not just saying something is bad. Remember that the people who read your feedback are human beings too.

Cheers,
Rong Jie

thank you - i will open a enhancement request.

Note that both Edge and Firefox will open the .pdx without trying to download it first.
