New Tab Variation

I've set Tab Grid Layout to disabled but I still have the grid. I want the old vertical dropdown tab list.

I guess they've removed the function, but not removed the option dialog yet

Eureka! Got rid of Tab Grid Layout & Group Tabs features & back to Cascading Tabs by

disabling these 4 tab groups:

chrome://flags/#enable-tab-grid-layout

chrome://flags/#enable-tab-groups

chrome://flags/#enable-tab-groups-continuation

chrome://flags/#enable-tab-groups-ui-improvements

THEN:

Relaunch Chrome

Restart phone.

As a PC tech I will be making sure NEVER to recommend Chrome again. Enough is enough, we've complained since it was introduced. All they've done is take out the flags to turn it off. At this point, even if they turn the cascading layout back on, I won't be reinstalling it. I have 36 tabs open at the moment but it will be worth the effort transferring everything to Firefox IMHO. RIP Chrome.

Disabled everything that has "tab" in it and still getting those group tabs...

@Google...are you joking with us? I'm disabling that stupid group tabs with every update and now you are forcing them to us? We need cascade style tabs as they were or if not, you're loosing many users.

Stupid group tab came out again on my phone after painstakingly reverting it back to vertical tab.

Chrome dev etc, stop forcing feature on user phone without warning or anything. Pisses me off badly.

If this goes on, high chance I'll be uninstalling chrome and move on to Opera GX instead

Bumping because im about to switch bacause of this. Dont mind the grid view but the grouping is doing my head in. Cant find a work around with the flags settings that work in current version.

Tab groups keep turning back on now with the latest update I cannot disable it.... Please google let us have back the old tab view.... It is better for single handed use.

I and many users out here are on the Autism spectrum. While these changes may seem insignificant to developers, they are absolutely DEVASTATING for people who medically CANNOT handle abrupt changes with their routines. You, Google, are cruelly causing thousands of users to go through meltdowns because you made a change they cannot undo.

I think we all just need start reply bombing Googles Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn accounts to remove this feature. (Go ahead & create a new account for these). They can't ignore everyones comments.
