This is taking up a lot of my time trying to find the solution to this, so I do sympathise with you.  I don't feel I should be forced to change my DNS.  This is only a recent (and highly annoying) problem for me, so when people start telling you their solution is to change your DNS setting to OpenDNS, I get very suspicious!

The Google Chrome solution is to open the 'Customize and control Google Chrome' (top right)
Select Settings
Open 'Advanced'
Open 'Privacy and Security
Then, uncheck 'Predict network actions to improve page load performance'

All worked well until the last part.  There IS no 'Predict network actions to improve page load performance' to uncheck!

Can someone please tell me why, and other than manually changing my DNS server from my ISP, advise on a practical, simple, fast fix?  Pretty please?

Thanks Nancy.  Chrome now works after rebooting.  Windows 10.

Got excited, but mine was already unclicked. Not sure what to do now.

Nancy Sullivan - Thank you for the post - 'Resolving Host' was seriously annoying - Kudos -you get a cookie!

That was exactly what was needed to fix my problem! Thank you so much, Nancy, for posting that. Others had me uninstalling Malwarebytes or reconfiguring my DNS settings. This was simple and effective, and I am convinced that this is the root cause of most "resolving host" problems for Windows 10 machines.

.  My problem started three days ago apparently after an automatic update of some kind and was killing me.  Thanks Nancy, it did the job!

Nancy, whoever you are, thank you so much.  Your solution worked for me as well!

Nancy your fix was a cure for me also. However it only lasted three days and the resolving host issue reoccurred. No issue with my laptop which  runs fine, but the desktop is the same slow unresponsive resolving host again after 2 days of running fine.

Anybody else have it reoccur  after implementing Nancy's solution ?

Tried Nancy's approach unclicking TCP/IPv6 but didn't work.  This issue for me started in the last couple of months.  I've read select posts citing latest version of Malwarebytes Premium to be the cause.  But removing it is not an ideal option for me.  In the meantime,  using Microsoft's Edge browser has eliminated the "Resolving Host" issue.  Sad that Google can't provide specific guidance on this issue!

Nancy fix did work for me. However I did find that it stopped working after three days. However if I restart my computer I do not have the resolving host issue. I ran a malwarebytes scan and I had the resolving host issue again. Fixed it by restarting my computer.

At this point Nancy's fix seems to work, do not run malwarebytes scans and if it stops working restart your computer. I have a ticket with malwarebytes tech support.
