Error loading media: File could not be played

Chrome Version (type about:version into your omnibox): Version 24.0.1312.52 m
Operating System (Windows 7/8/Vista/XP, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS): Windows 8
Extensions (type Chrome:extensions into your omnibox): Adblock Plus

This is really bugging me every time I try to play a video on mobypicture/JW Player this error shows up within 2 seconds. "Error loading media: File could not be played." It doesn't happen on any other browser I've tried.

Here's a video for example:

Did I mess something up in my flash installation or is everyone else getting the same problem?

Hi all,

Please make sure you have updated to the latest version of Chrome. This should solve the issue.

Additionally, you can also try these basic troubleshooting steps:

Delete your cache and cookies

Try Incognito mode

  • If you are able to open e-mail links within incognito mode, then temporarily disable your extensions to identify which one is causing the problem. To do this go to chrome://extensions and uncheck Enabled for each extension one by one.

Reset your browser settings

Turn off hardware acceleration

Please let me know if any of these options work! If not, we can further troubleshoot.

Thanks,
Dane
