ubuntu google chrome your profile could not be opened correctly

I have been experiencing sync problems with Chrome since I've reinstalled ubuntu 14.04
This are the things i have tired to fix this issue and sadly non of this worked
1) retyped my password multiple times
2) un-synced and re-synced chrome account
3) deleted chrome and it's file in .config folder
4) installed beta version of chrome
5) Disabled "key lock" from "Password and keys"

This are the things I can remember doing and non of this worked, I still get profile could not be opened correctly

I will add a video showing the error as well

Is there an other way to fix this issue ?? I should add that same account sync works on W8.1 without a problem at least for now, although on Windows 8 chrome was unusable on my two different PS's

This is the error report I am getting out of the terminal

Hi Levan7,

Welcome to the Chrome Forum!

Are you receiving this error when you try to sign into Chrome? Are you able to access your Google Dashboard?

Best,

Michele

Hi Levan,

since you are syncing all user information,
I would simply suggest to remove ~/.config/google-chrome and login to the sync again.
It is a bit harsh, do mostly does the trick.

Tank you for the reply but Under 3) I've stated that deleting .config files did not prove effective

I too have the same issue on Ubuntu 14.04. Removed all instances of Chrome, re-installed, deleted config files and started fresh and still have this issue every time I open the browser.

I started to have this problem after updating to chrome 37, On windows 8 it had no sync issue but it was unusable (opening a new tab would take two hours) on two different windows 8 pc, Had to install windows 8.1 to fix that issue.
Now I can not fix sync issue on 14.04

Hi Levan7,

does the issue appear when you have deleted .config/google-chrome though did no syncing at all?

I have the same problem for chromium and chrome 37 on ubuntu 12.04.
Which is worse, my chrome and chromium keep crashing after running a few minutes.
All is ok before updating to 37 version. Please fix the problem in the next release.

I also have the same problem since upgrading to 37 on Ubuntu.  No issues on Windows 7 at work to which I also sync.   I have deleted all of the Chrome versions and re-installed, deleted the configurations and upon logging back in, everything worked.  Until I closed and re-opened Chrome then I got the same error again.

I only removed "~/.local/share/keyrings" and that seems to work.

In the past I removed the config directory so many times, and it worked always but I always lost all my passwords, info on webpages etc.
and after some time this error came back.

So in my case it's because of the keyring.

Edit: Well I've got the problem again, this really sucks.
So I'm doubting if that keyring thing worked because the map is gone now and the problem came back.
It happened here when I took my laptop out of hibernate and started chrome...

Edit2: Now I closed chrome and when I took a look in the system monitor of Ubuntu there was still one process of chrome.
Then I forced that to close but it didn't so I destroyed the process and when it was gone, I started chrome again and this time all was OK.
No profile message and I was logged in, so the problem is that there is still a process of chrome running.
