Hi, this happened to me too since yesterday (also 8 Nov). Exactly the same effect (text selection works in other applications and IE) but I am using a Wacom Intuos 2, on Windows 7.

Hi Rajesh and Bryan,

Thanks for posting on the Google Chrome Help Forum.

I appreciate all the information you've shared. Do you face this issue on a domain/managed network? If yes, are you the administrator of your network? If that's not the case, I see that you are using Chrome Canary. I’d recommend you installing Chrome Stable which is alongside Chrome Canary. Chrome Stable has gotten the full testing and is the updated version. It is the best bet to avoid crashes and other issues.

If the issue persists, please check in incognito mode. If that doesn't help, try creating a new user profile by adding a new user in Chrome and check if that works.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,
Tina

Hi Tina

Apologies for being horribly ignorant, but I'm not sure I am on Chrome Canary, how do you tell? Is that just because Rajesh posted in that category, or can you see which version of Chrome we have?

In any case, I'm on a home PC, so I guess it's not a managed network and I must be the admin.

Given all of that, does your advice change?

Thanks! Bryan

I have the same issue using Wacom Intuos CTH-480 on a Windows 7 business laptop using Google Chrome 62.0.3202.89 (official build) 64-bits. Please fix this as soon as possible.

I have the same issue and I'm using Huion H610PRO Painting Drawing Pen and Tablet. The problem started about a week ago. I'm using Windows 7 Professional and Google Chrome Version 62.0.3202.89 (Official Build) (64-bit). No issue when using other applications. Only Google Chrome.

Hello,
Same problem here.
I have two computers, a laptop and a desktop, both with windows 7 and chrome 62.0.3202.89.
One of them has a Wacom intuos 3 and the other one a Intuos pen small.
In both of them I can not select text. I can select text in any other software and with the trackpad and mouse.
I have already tried with a new user and the problem persists.
Thank you

Experiencing the same issue reported here whereby Chrome (Version 62.0.3202.89 (Official Build) (64-bit) isn't allowing text highlighting if I use my Wacom Intuos 3. I have to switch to a mouse (Eeek!) for this simple functionality to work. I can confirm that November 8 was when I noticed this issue as well. All other browsers work. I tried all the suggestions made by Tina. None work. Would appreciate an immediate fix.

Thank you.

Same problem here on Windows 7 Version 62.0.3202.89 (Official Build) with Wacom CTH-480. It wasn't fixed in 62.0.3202.94.  I have to use a different browser in order to copy paste.  Hoping this will get fixed soon.

Me too. All other applications work. Nothing in the Chrome browser will drag-select.
