Hello,

In our organization OS upgrade was done from windows XP to Windows 7. After upgrade had to install Google chrome again and since the OS upgrade, updates and sync do not work.

This is the message in chrome://chrome
"Updates are disabled by the administrator"

This is the message in chrome://settings
"Sync is disabled by your administrator."

My user account has Administrators privileges on this machine.
Didnt face this issue in Windows XP

BTW, have the same issue in canary version also

It sounds like your IT department has locked down your chrome settings, so i'd suggest contacting them about this.

I did and they are unaware about it.

In case we have to figure out/confirm if they had done the change can we check that anywhere in registry ?

Found this as an old bug in chromium project:

I am having the same problem in Chrome "Sync is disabled by your administrator"

It was working fine yesterday, I also noticed Chrome has either updated or re-installed, not sure if that has something to do with my network admin or Chrome autoupdate.

Please help me chromium, you are my only hope! Thanks

Same issue as everyone else. Have administrator privileges. IT department knows nothing but getting "sync is disabled by administrator". No bookmarks, no themes.

When I go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\ I don't have a folder that says Google after, just Adobe and Microsoft. In Microsoft I have a folder called WindowsFirewall but that's it. What do I do to enable all things for Chrome?
