Mouse Pointer Disappears

My mouse pointer disappears when it hovers on Google Chrome. I'm using Windows 8.1, an Acer Iconia W510. Whenever I use google chrome, my mous pointer disappears and I have to navigate by using touchscreen. Anyone with the same problem?

Hi there, Rabs Banana -

Thank you for writing in to the Chrome Browser Forum, happy to have you here!

Hope that we can narrow down what may be causing this cursor issue for you.
  • Can you confirm that you are running the latest version of Chrome by typing in chrome://version in your address bar? Please check if there is an available update for you here.
  • Please also check if you experience the same error on another web browser, such as IE or Firefox? This way, we can confirm if the problem is Chrome-specific.
  • Let me know if this occurs with Google Chrome in Incognito Mode. This will temporarily disable your current extensions in case there is a faulty one in there that is interfering with your user experience (Ctrl+Shift+N is the shortcut). Does the behavior change?
Please let me know what you find after trying these steps.

Cheers,
Natalie R. W.

I too have this problem.
I have just bought a new laptop (HP Envy) 4 days ago and downloaded the chrome browser. 37.0.2062.103 (Official Build 291558)
Running Windows 8.1 and using the mouse pad, the pointer doesn't show up when moved over the chrome browser window. I can see the mouse position when it moves over a link by the fact it highlights the link but the pointer itself is not visible until it moves off the window.
The touch screen still works fine for selecting things. Interestingly the text cursor in this box I'm typing in is visible.
The mouse pointer is visible when using any other software including IE.
Incognito mode has no effect on this issue.
Cheers,
Chris

I'm having the same problem as everyone else is describing. My mouse pointer disappears when using Chrome only. I have a Toshiba satellite c55dt-b5208. Incognito doesn't make any difference. I have the most up to date Chrome, Windows 8.1. In fact, I just re-read the comment from Chris_H below, and my issue is identical. Please help!!!

Thanks,
Danielle

I thought I figured it out...but it's a sporadic fix at best. I have Windows 8...and apparently there's a different version of Chrome for Windows 8. I  went to the Chrome menu and selected "Relaunch Chrome for Windows 8" (or something like that), and it changed versions. But honestly, it still doesn't work. Chrome! Come on! I want to be able to keep using this browser because it's usually my favorite browser; but if I can't use my mouse, we have problems.

Mouse Pointer disappears while searching Internet is a common problem for Google Chrome users. Mouse pointer disappearing often happens with Windows computers with touch screen. Mouse inputs are not registering in Chrome resulting in disappearance of mouse pointers while user try to switch between tabs.
