Getting signed out of Twitter every time I close the window

This has only been occurring for the last 3 days, I haven't changed anything in Twitter itself and haven't installed any new software or made any system changes.

I was using a 64.xxxxx version of Chrome and a few hours ago ago updated to  Version 65.0.3325.146

It's quite odd, I've been using Twitter on Chrome for years and never have to log in unless I've cleared browsing history. No other websites are logging me out like Reddit, NeoGAF just Twitter. However I am not being signed out of Twitter on Edge or Firefox, just Chrome.

Anyone experiencing this problem or have some ideas as to how I may fix this?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Hello Andrew,

Close one by one the extensions, chrome://extensions/, and check if the problem solved.
Maybe that an extension bothers.

Hi Anneke,

I only have 1 extension enabled (Ublock Origin) which I have set to be always turned off for Twitter and several other sites. I closed it, restarted PC, opened Twitter, signed in, closed window, opened chrome, opened Twitter and was signed out as usual.

The setting "Keep local data only until you quit your browser" is also disabled, as it always has been, so that is another possible solution that can be discounted.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome and the issue still remains, great to see the help forum so unhelpful...

Hi Andrew,

Sign in data is stored in your browser's cookies. Your's may have gotten corrupted.
Try "Clearing your Browser Data (Cache)
Try your "Cache" and "Cookiesfirst and see if that helps. Deselect all others (i.e. "History")
Do not forget to select "Begining of Time" in the upper right.

Relaunch Chrome...

All sites will require at least one sign-in. See if Twitter stays signed in now.

Hi Gary, I did what you said, which I had attempted myself last night and it didn't work. I then deleted everything related to chrome on the PC including saved passwords, reinstalled Chrome(which I've now done 5 times in 3 days), that still didn't work. I then repeated your steps on a fresh install, still didn't work.

I even tried toggling the clear browser data on close on then back to default off as someone on reddit said that worked for them, still didn't work.

All I know is whatever version of Chrome I had prior to these last two, was fine, as soon as I updated it to 64.whatever a few days ago, then updated it a day or so ago to Version 65.0.3325.146 (Official Build) (64-bit) seems to have directly caused this issue, as absolutely nothing else has been changed, tweaked or altered on this PC.

Did you select "All Time" in the Clear Data?

Try using another Chrome User profile and see if the problem is there...
Click on the name next to the Minimize button (Windows), select "Manage People"
Select to "Add Person"  (at the bottom).. See if you have the problem while in this User Profile...
A separate Chrome shortcut should be created on your desktop .... use that one to start Chrome in this new profile.

After you are done, just switch back to your Username by closing this window.

Yeah Gary, I had done all of those things it made no difference. But as most people who have had this happen that I spoke to on Reddit had said, it resolved itself for no apparent reason and no changes being made, just opened chrome today, clicked on Twitter and was still signed in. A Festivus Miracle!!

The exact same thing is happening to me as well. Every single time I close out Chrome, when I open it up again later, Twitter has been logged out and I have to sign back in. The only time that I usually have to log back in is when I delete cookies, cache, etc.

I'm having the same issue! I've cleared out all my data, uninstalled, and reinstalled and that did not fix the problem.

This was driving me batty, I even changed my password in case I was compromised. Happened in Chrome and Safari. The "pga tour" trick worked for me, too! Thanks!
