I'm trying to install google chrome and it pops out the error "Google Update installation failed error 0x80040707"

Operating System: Windows 7
Error Message: Google Update installation failed error 0x80040707

I created a new administrator account in my computer and, although I had google chrome on the last account, I couldn't open it in the new one. So I uninstalled the google chrome from the last one and now every time I'm trying to install it on the new account, the error "Google Update installation failed error 0x80040707" pops out. What can I do???

1.Go to the Start menu > Run.
2.Enter the following in the text box: C:\
3.Click OK.
4.Create a test folder in the C:\ window that opens, by going to File > New > Folder. Name the folder "test."
5.Download an alternate installation file for Google Chrome at http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?installdataindex=verboselogging. Save it to the new Test folder.
6.Go back to the Start menu > Run.
7.Enter the following in the text box: cmd.exe
8.Click OK.
9.In the command prompt window that opens, type the following: set TMP=C:\test
10.Next, type the following in the window: cd C:\test
11.Finally, type the following in the window: start ChromeSetup.exe

Thank you so much for your help.

Nothing worked until I followed your string to find an off-line site to finally successfully install the chrome.

Thanks again!

try this (it's for xp, but I'm sure vista/7 are not too different):
dowload>save (not run)>right click the downloaded file>properties>general;unblock (at the bottom);ok>run as... untick "protect my pc....";ok.
it worked for me...
