I have the identical problem. Chrome 15.0.874.83 beta on an iMac - 20 MPS connection. The issue presents if I attempt login from ( http://www22.verizon.com/Foryourhome/MyAccount/Unprotected/UserManagement/Login/Login.aspx?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=vzcp_mat_Primary ) or from the pop-over screen that is accessed by clicking on the e-mail and more button (http://www22.verizon.com/Foryourhome/MyAccount/Unprotected/UserManagement/Login/Login.aspx?goto=https%3A%2F%2Fwww22%2Everizon%2Ecom%2Fmyverizon%2Fmessages%2Frouter%2F ). However, if I first log into myVerizon via the webmail site (http://webmail.verizon.net/signin/ ), all seems to work. The Verizon site seems to work fine with Firefox 7.0.1 w/NoScript. Verizon's help/support appears to be useless as I can not seem to get to anybody to describe the issue. I have screen caps, if they would be of use - don't seem to be able to include them here.

I've also had some luck with the direct to email login, as suggested by Dancy70, but it is an enormous pain in the A%%.
Verizon appears to not support Chrome anymore. The site also logs me out despite clicking the "keep me logged in for two weeks" box.

I agree with michealstn. Also, Verizon is sort of hush hush about this. They know more than they wish to share.

"keep me logged in" works on the computers at my office, in IE. Has never worked on my laptop in any of 5 browsers.

I suspect that it is related to Verizon's marketing splash screens.

I've got the same problem, but it's really not something that should be posted on google.com...We need to email verizon and tell them to fix their webpage.

Good point Evan, but I also figured that Chrome must be functioning in a different manner from other browsers and could use a correction also. The non-informative error message doesn't indicate who's programming is at fault.
I also consider that these pages are a resource for work-around solutions for all users.

I cleared my history back 4 weeks and it worked right away.

Go to "Options" -> "Under the hood" -> "Content settings..." -> "Cookies" -> "All cookies and site data"
Filter cookies by word "Verizon" and remove all of em
Login again

Clearing all the cookies and site data seems to work for only one log in. The process has to be repeated for the next e-mail login. The problem seems to be more at the Verizon end as the problem also occurs in the firefox browser.

This method doesn't work for me at all. Using XP SP3 with the latest revision to Chrome. Cleared both my Verizon cookies and browsing history with no luck.

All of us that are having this problem should be emailing Verizon customer service - every day - until they get this nonsense cleared up. It's a royal pain in the neck. Fortunately, at least so far, the Thunderbird mail client works...

Per ssf65000, I have erased all of my cookies, signed out. Closed Chrome (16.0.912.75). Reopened chrome. Signed in. And still get the "not supported method" message. I can sign in using IE version 9.0.8112.16412. I am running Windows 7 - 64 bit. This is the second time I have reported the issue. I have not tried Firefox. Google needs to address with Verizon (who already Google's customer.)
