Bookmarks in folders not syncing properly
Thank for your reports on bookmarks not properly syncing. We’ve merged multiple threads on this issue here so that we can update you in one place.
We have identified an issue in which bookmarks that were in folders, have had a problem with syncing (the bookmark bar is considered a folder by the system so you will see the same missing bookmarks there as well). The trend does seem to be that when you initiated some form of an update (mostly OS) or added an additional device, folder bookmarks did not transfer. We are actively working on this issue and have a fix we will be pushing over the next couple of days. This should not require you to take any further steps. We just ask for your patience as we work to get this resolved and live.
For those seeing issues with mobile devices, can you please check if tabs from the desktop are showing up under menu -> "other devices" on android - this will indicate whether all of sync is stuck or if the issue is bookmarks. Please let us know here and we will continue to troubleshoot the issue.
Nice to know that Google has acknowledged it as a bug so we can stop figuring out what's wrong with our devices :-)
Will you let us know when the issue is fixed so we can update immediately instead of having to wait for the Google updater service (assuming it's going to be a Chrome update)?
Some community members might have badges that indicate their identity or level of participation in a community.
Member levels indicate a user's level of participation in a forum. The greater the participation, the higher the level. Everyone starts at level 1 and can rise to level 10. These activities can increase your level in a forum:
- Post an answer.
- Having your answer selected as the best answer.
- Having your post rated as helpful.
- Vote up a post.
- Correctly mark a topic or post as abuse.
Having a post marked and removed as abuse will slow a user's advance in levels.
