Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out.

Hey everyone,

Chrome is working fine whenever I am in home network. But, once I am in the office, with the same setting, I am getting this error - "Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out."

I have already followed, (I think the most trusted suggestion for this troubleshooting) - "go to IE open tools-internet options-connections-LAN settings and check the auto detect box. Then restart Chrome." but no success yet.

Can some one help?

Thanks
Pankaj

Hi pnkz.kgp,

I don't know where you found the following solution, but it resolved the issue for me:

"go to IE open tools-internet options-connections-LAN settings and check the auto detect box. Then restart Chrome."

Thanks for posting!

Hey People of the Internet!!!

So you're getting 'Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out' when you try to use Chrome. There are a number of factor's that could cause Chrome's connection to time out.

If you've tried Tanuj*'s fix and it didn't work for you, try the solutions below.

A. First things first, check your Internet connection. Restart any router, modem, or other network devices you may be using.

B. It could be your Firewall security, check your firewall settings to see if you've got limited access to certain applications, for instance:

If you've got McAffee Total Protection installed change your settings in Access from "Outgoing" to "Full".

C. You may need to update your network drivers. Here is a handy dandy guide on how to do that based on your OS.

If you're still running into this problem and you're like whyyyyy post a new thread to our forums so someone from the Chrome team can help you!

Happy interneting :)
