Bookmark a webpage

Save the webpages you’d like to revisit by creating bookmarks.

Add a bookmark

To learn how to bookmark a webpage, choose your device:

Computer

To bookmark a webpage, click the star icon at the end of the address bar. It could look like this Bookmark or Bookmark.

You can also do one of the following:

  • Go to the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Bookmarks > Bookmark This Page.
  • Drag the lock Lock or page Blank page icon icon from the URL into the bookmarks bar.
  • Press Ctrl+D (Mac: ⌘-D).
Android device

On a phone

  1. Open the Chrome menu.
    It could be an icon or a button on your phone. They look like Menu or Menu.
  2. Touch the star icon Bookmark.
  3. Edit the bookmark’s name and URL, if necessary.
  4. Optional: Choose a folder or create a new one.
  5. Touch Save.

On a tablet

  1. In the address bar, touch the star icon Bookmark.
  2. Edit the bookmark’s name and URL, if necessary.
  3. Optional: Choose a folder or create a new one.
  4. Touch Save.
iPhone or iPad

On an iPhone

  1. Open the Chrome menu Chrome menu.
  2. At the top of the menu, touch the star icon .
  3. Edit the bookmark’s name and URL, if necessary.
  4. Optional: Choose a folder or create a new one.
  5. Touch Save.

On an iPad

  1. In the address bar, touch the star icon Bookmark.
  2. Edit the bookmark’s name and URL, if necessary.
  3. Optional: Choose a folder or create a new one.
  4. Touch Save.

See your bookmarks

To learn where you can access your bookmarks, choose your device:

Computer

You can see your bookmarks in three places:

  • Bookmarks bar: The bookmarks bar is turned off by default, but it always appears on New Tab pages. You can change your settings to show the bookmarks bar on every page.

  • Bookmarks menu: This list of bookmarks can be accessed through the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Bookmarks.

  • Bookmark manager: The bookmark manager makes it easy for you to revisit your bookmarks. To get there, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.
Mobile devices

Mobile bookmarks

By default, opening Bookmarks on your mobile device only shows your mobile bookmarks.

  1. Open the Chrome menu > Bookmarks.
  2. Touch the bookmark you want to visit.

Desktop and other bookmarks

To access bookmarks saved on a computer, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Chrome menu > Bookmarks.
  2. In the top left corner, touch “Bookmarks” in grey.
  3. Open the folder “Desktop bookmarks” or “Other bookmarks."
  4. Touch the bookmark you want to visit.

To share bookmarks across multiple platforms, sign in to Chrome on each device. Moving forward, this will sync your bookmarks to your Google Account.
