Clear your download history

You can delete all, or some, of your download history. Don't worry, this won't delete your actual downloaded files. It just cleans up your Downloads page.

Remove items from your download history

  1. In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu Menu.
  2. Select Downloads.
  3. For each item you want to delete, click Remove from list.

You can also use Ctrl+J (Windows, Linux and Chrome OS) and ⌘-Shift-J (Mac) to quickly open the Downloads page.

Clear your download history from a longer period of time

  1. In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu Menu.
  2. Click History and recent tabs > History.
  3. Select Clear browsing data.
  4. Untick every box but "Download history". It should already be ticked for you. Find out more about other types of browsing data that you can delete.
  5. At the top, use the drop-down menu to select the amount of download history that you want to delete.
  6. Click Clear browsing data.
