View and delete your Chrome browsing history

You can view your browsing history in Chrome. You can also continue browsing what you’ve already started on a desktop or laptop computer, and find related searches.

If you don’t want a record of pages that you've visited in Chrome, you can delete all or some of your browsing history. If you delete your browsing history, it takes effect on all devices where you turned sync on and signed in to Chrome.

Separately, you can also delete your Google search history from your account.

Find your history

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app .
2. Tap More   History .

Clear your history

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app .
2. Tap More   History .
3. At the bottom, tap Clear browsing data.
4. Tick Browsing history. It may be ticked by default.
5. Untick any other items that you don't want to delete.
6. Tap Clear browsing data  Clear browsing data.
7. At the top right, tap Done.

Delete an item from your history

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app .
2. Tap More   History .
3. At the bottom, tap Edit.
4. Tick the entries that you want to delete.
5. Tap Delete.
6. At the top right, tap Done.

Tip: To search for something specific, use the search bar at the top.

Remove suggested sites from the new tab page

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a new tab.
2. To remove an image, touch and hold it.
3. Select Remove.

What your history shows

Your history shows the pages that you've visited on Chrome in the last 90 days. It doesn’t store Chrome pages that you’ve visited, like chrome://settings, pages that you've visited in private browsing or pages that you've already deleted from your browsing history.

If you're signed in to Chrome and sync your history, your history shows pages that you’ve visited across all your synced devices for much longer. If you're signed out of Chrome, your history won't show pages across your other devices.

Browse privately

If you don’t want Chrome to save your browsing history at all, you can browse in private with Incognito mode.

Using a Chromebook at work or school? Your network administrator can turn off browsing history. If history is off, your history won't list pages that you've visited. Learn about using a managed Chrome device.
