Delete your Chrome browsing history

If you don’t want a record of which web pages you’ve visited using Chrome, you can delete all or some of your browsing history. Deleting your browsing history will take effect on all devices where you’re signed in to Chrome.

Your history will be removed from Chrome. Separately, you can also delete your Google search history from your account.

See your full web history

Your History page shows the websites that you've visited on Chrome in the last 90 days. It doesn’t store pages from secure websites, those you've visited in incognito mode or those that you've already deleted from your browsing history.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. At the top-right, tap More More.
  3. Tap History.

Clear all your history

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. At the top-right, tap More More.
  3. Tap History.
  4. At the bottom, tap Clear Browsing Data.
  5. Tap to tick "Browsing history". It may be ticked by default.
  6. Untick any other items that you don't want to delete.
  7. Tap Clear Browsing Data.
  8. Confirm by tapping Clear Browsing Data.
  9. At the top-right, tap Done.

To delete your search history, find out about clearing activity saved in My Activity.

Delete an item from your history

You can delete certain parts of your history. To search for something specific, use the search bar at the top.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. At the top-right, tap More More .
  3. Tap History.
  4. At the bottom, tap Edit.
  5. Tick the box next to the entry you want to delete.
  6. Tap Delete.
  7. At the top-right, tap Done.

Remove an image from the New Tab page

To see the sites that you visit most, open a new tab. To remove an image, touch and hold it. Then, select Remove.

Browse privately

If you don’t want Chrome to save your browsing history at all, you can browse in private with Incognito mode.
