Search the web on Chrome

You can quickly find what you’re looking for on the Internet, in your bookmarks and in your browsing history.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. In the address bar at the top, type your search.
  3. Tap the result, Go or Continue Continue.

Search within a web page

You can find a specific word or phrase on a web page on your Android device.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Open a web page.
  3. Tap More More and then Find in page.
  4. Type your search term in the bar that appears at the top.
  5. Tap Search Search.
  6. Matches appear highlighted in yellow. You can see where all the matches are located on a web page using the yellow markers on the scrollbar.

Search words or images

You can find more info about a specific word, phrase or image on a web page.

Google must be set as your default search engine to use Touch to Search. 

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Open a web page.
  3. Tap any word on a web page to highlight it.
  4. Tap on the panel that shows up on the bottom of the page. You’ll see search results for the words that you highlighted.

To turn off Touch to Search:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap Privacy and then Touch to Search.
  4. Turn the setting off.
