Set your default search engine
You can use the address bar (omnibox) as a search box. It automatically uses Google, but you can set another default search engine instead.
If Google is normally your search engine and suddenly it’s not, you may have malware. Get help restoring your Chrome settings.
Set your default search engine
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app
.
- At the top-right, tap More
Settings.
- Under 'Basics', tap Search engine.
- Select the search engine that you want to use.
Using Google as your default search engine
When Google is your default search engine, your location is used for your searches in the address bar and on Google. Find out more about sharing your location.
To stop using your location in searches, turn off Chrome's access to your location:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the settings app.
- Find and tap Chrome.
- Tap Location
