Switch your sync account in Chrome

When you're signed in to Chrome on different devices, you can choose what information to sync across them, like your bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings.

You can switch the account that your data is synced to on any device. If you are sharing Chrome with another person and want to sync their data too, you should add a new person to Chrome instead of switching sync accounts.

Computer
  1. Open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Under "Sign in," click Disconnect your Google Account.
  5. Click Disconnect account.
  6. Click Sign in to Chrome.
  7. Sign in with the Google Account that you want to use with this profile.
  8. If you want to switch your sync account and import your existing data into your new sync account, click Sign in anyway. Your existing data that was previously synced to your old account will now also sync to your new account. For example, you might want to do this if you're transitioning to a new Google Account.
  9. If you are adding a new person to Chrome with their own sync account or want to keep your existing data separate, click Create a new user.
Android phone or tablet
  1. Open the Chrome app Chrome app.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap your name.
  4. Tap on Sync and then Sync to.
  5. Tap the account you want to sync to.
  6. Choose how you want to handle your data:
    • Keep existing data separate: Keep the data between your two accounts separate. For example, if you're switching between your work and personal accounts.
    • Import existing data: Import the data that was synced to your old account to your new account. For example, if you're transitioning to a new Google Account.
