Sync passwords across your devices

You can sign in with your saved passwords on different devices using Smart Lock for Passwords. Smart Lock syncs your passwords to your Google Account when you're signed in on Chrome or on your Android.

An app or site's password won't show up on other apps or sites. Learn more about managing your website passwords.

Save passwords to your Account

If Smart Lock for Passwords is on, when you sign in to websites in Chrome or some apps on your Android, you'll be asked if you'd like to save your sign-in information.

To save your password for the website or app, select Save. If you have more than one Google Account signed in to your Android device, you can choose the account where you want to save the password.

You can view your saved passwords at any time at passwords.google.com or in Chrome's settings.

    • Open your device's Settings app. Scroll down, and select Google.
    • Open a separate app called Google Settings Google Settings.
  2. Tap Smart Lock for Passwords.

    • Auto sign-in: Automatically sign in to compatible apps and websites connected to your Google Account across your devices.
Turn off Smart Lock for Passwords for specific apps

You can choose to never save passwords for specific apps installed on your device. When you're prompted to save a password with Smart Lock, select Never. You won't see an offer to save that password again.

    • Open your device's Settings app. Scroll down, and select Google.
    • Open a separate app called Google Settings Google Settings.
  2. Tap Smart Lock for Passwords.
  3. Under "Never save," tap Add app not to be saved.
  4. Tap the app you want.
