Sync and view tabs and history across devices

When you sign in to Chrome version 18 or later, you can see the tabs that you have open on other computers, phones and tablets where you're signed in.

Get to tabs already open on other devices

You can access any open tabs from your other synced devices, like computers, phones, and tablets.

Computer
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Make sure you're signed in.
  3. At the top right, click More More.
  4. Point to History.
  5. Click the tab you want to open.
Android phone or tablet
  1. On your Android device, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Make sure you're signed in.
  3. Tap More More and then New Tab.
  4. At the bottom, tap Recent tabs recent tabs.
  5. Click the tab you want to open.
iPhone & iPad
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Make sure you're signed in.
  3. Tap More More and then New Tab.
  4. At the bottom, tap Recent tabs recent tabs.
  5. Click the tab you want to open.


Turn tab sync on or off

The tabs you open on one device will be available by default on all your devices where you are signed in to Chrome. You can change what gets synced between your devices when you're signed in.

View and open history across devices

You can access your history from your other synced devices, like computers, phones, and tablets.

Computer
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Make sure you're signed in.
  3. At the top right, click More More.
  4. Click History and then History.
  5. Click the link you want to open.
Android phone or tablet
  1. On your Android device, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Make sure you're signed in.
  3. Tap More More and then History.
  4. Click the link you want to open.
iPhone & iPad
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Make sure you're signed in.
  3. Tap More More and then History.
  4. Click the link you want to open.


Turn history sync on or off

If you have history sync turned on in sync settings, your history is available across devices. You can turn history sync on or off on each of your devices.

If you use a sync passphrase, you'll only see sites you visited on other devices if you typed their web addresses into the search bar.
