Adobe Shockwave plug-in

Shockwave Player lets you view interactive web content, such as games and videos, that are created with Adobe Director. Some websites require the plug-in to properly display their content.

Install Shockwave

Windows instructions

  1. Download the Shockwave installer from Adobe.
  2. When the download is complete, click the installer in the downloads bar at the bottom of Chrome. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Adobe Shockwave.

    Windows User Account Control might appear and ask you for permission to install. If you don’t have administration privileges on the computer, please contact your system administrator to finish installation.

  3. Restart Chrome.

Mac instructions

  1. Download the Shockwave installer from Adobe.
  2. When the download is complete, click the installer in the downloads bar at the bottom of Chrome.
  3. Double click Shockwave_Installer_Full.pkg to open the installer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  5. Restart Chrome.

Enable or disable Shockwave plug-in

The Shockwave plug-in is enabled by default after you’ve restarted Chrome. You can enable or disable the plug-in at chrome:plugins.

  1. Type chrome:plugins in the address bar.
  2. Find Shockwave:
    • Click Disable to stop the plug-in from running.
    • Click Enable to re-enable the plug-in.
