Clear browsing data

This article applies to Chrome for Mobile.

You have control over your browsing data, like browsing history, site data, and autofill data, and can clear it in a few easy steps.

To clear browsing data on your Android phone or tablet:

  1. Tap Chrome menu > Settings.
  2. Tap (Advanced) Privacy.
  3. Tap Clear browsing data.
  4. Tap the Clear data from the dropdown.
  5. Select a time period, such past hour or past day.
  6. Select the data types you want to clear. 
  7. Tap Clear data.

To clear browsing data on your iPhone or iPad:

  1. Touch Chrome menu > Settings.
  2. Touch Privacy.
  3. Choose the data type you want to clear.
  4. Touch Clear.

The synced data types will be deleted across all your devices. Learn how to choose which data types to sync. Saved site settings, like microphone or location permissions, won't be deleted. Learn how to delete site settings.

Deleting cookies will sign you out of most websites. However, when you're signed in to Chrome, you won't be signed out of Google.
