Turn sync on or off in Chrome

To save your info to your Google Account, sign in to Chrome and turn on sync.

What happens when you sync

  • You can see and update your synced info on all your devices, such as bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings.
  • You'll sign in automatically to Gmail, YouTube, Search and other Google services.
  • If you change devices (like if you lost your phone or got a new laptop), you'll get all your info back.
  • You’ll personalise your experience in other Google products by including your Chrome history with your Web & App Activity.

Note: Only turn on Chrome sync with devices that you trust. If you're using a public computer, use guest mode instead.

Sign in to Chrome

To sign in to Chrome, you'll need a Google account.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. At the bottom right, tap More More and then Settings Settings and then Sign in to Chrome.
  3. Tap the account that you want to use.
  4. Tap Continue and then OK, got it.

Sign out of Chrome

After signing out, you can still see your bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings. But if you make any changes, they won't be saved to your Google account and synced to your other devices.

  2. At the bottom right, tap More More and then Settings Settings.
  3. Tap your name.
  4. Tap Sign out of Chrome.

Sign out remotely

You can remove your account from one of your devices, even if you don’t have that device with you. You’ll be signed out from any computer that you’ve used before, including the one that you’re using now.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Go to your Google Account to manage apps with access to your account.
  3. Under 'Google apps', click Google Chrome and then Remove access.
