Sign in or out of Chrome

When you sign in to Chrome, your info is saved to your Google Account so that you can get it whenever you need it.

What happens when you're signed in

  • You can see and update your synced info on all your devices, like bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings.
  • If you change devices (like if you lost your phone or got a new laptop), you'll get all your info back.
  • You'll sign in automatically to Gmail, YouTube, Search and other Google services.
  • Your experience in other Google products is personalised by including your Chrome history with your Web & App Activity.

Signing in to the Chrome app is different from signing in to a website.

Note: Only sign in to Chrome with devices that you trust. If you're using a public computer, use guest mode instead of signing in.

Sign in to Chrome

To sign in to Chrome, you'll need a Google Account.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings and then Sign in to Chrome.
  3. Tap the account that you want to use.
  4. Tap Continue and then OK, Got it.

Sign out of Chrome

After signing out, you can still see your bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings. But if you make any changes, they won't be saved to your Google Account and synced to your other devices.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. At the top-right, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap your name.
  4. Tap Sign out of Chrome.

Sign out remotely

You can remove your account from a device, even if you don't have it with you.

To sign out of any device, go to this list of your recently used devices. Select a device, and remove your account access.
