Fill out forms automatically
You can save time filling out forms by using Chrome Autofill, which fills in online forms for you.
After filling out a payment form, you may see a prompt to save your credit card information. If you want Chrome to add the info to Autofill, click Save.
Add and edit email addresses, phone numbers, and other info
When you save an address, Autofill may include any of the following information with the address:
- Name
- Organization
- Street address, including city, state or province, ZIP code, and country
- Phone number
- Email address
You can add, change, or delete your information at any time:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Settings.
- At the bottom, click Advanced.
- Under "Passwords and forms," click Autofill settings.
- Add, edit, or delete an address:
- Add: Next to "Addresses," click Add.
- Edit: To the right of the address, click More
Edit.
- Delete: To the right of the address, click More
Remove.
Note: If an address is saved in Google Payments, you can't delete it from Autofill. To change or delete the address, click Edit and sign in. Then, make your changes in Google Payments.
Add and edit credit cards
You can save time entering your purchase information by saving credit cards to Chrome Autofill.
- Open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Settings.
- At the bottom, click Advanced.
- Under "Passwords and forms," click Autofill settings.
- Add, edit, or delete a credit card:
- Add: Next to "Credit cards," click Add.
- Edit: To the right of the card, click More
Edit.
- Delete: To the right of the card, click More
Remove.
If you're signed into Chrome, cards and addresses saved in Google Payments will also show up in forms. Learn more about adding cards to Payments.
Note: If a credit card is saved in Google Payments, go to payments.google.com to manage your credit card.
When you’re paying for something online, the credit cards you’ve saved in Chrome and Google Payments will show up in a dropdown list.
If you don't see Autofill suggestions when filling out a form, the website might not be secure enough to use Autofill.

After choosing a card, you might be asked to enter the CVC number. You get two chances to enter the right CVC number. After two tries, you’ll have to wait before trying again.
If you don't want Chrome to have to verify your card every time, turn off verification:
- When filling out a form, choose the credit card you want to use from the Autofill suggestions.
- When prompted, enter the CVC number. (It's usually on the back of your credit card. On American Express cards, it’s on the front.)
- Check "Keep a copy of this card on this device."
- Click Verify.
Save credit cards to Autofill & Google Payments
If you're signed into Chrome, cards and addresses saved in Google Payments will show up as Autofill suggestions.
By default, cards saved to Autofill are also saved to Google Payments.
To stop saving credit cards from Autofill to Payments, turn off the sync option. Your payment information will still be stored in Chrome.
- Open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Settings.
- At the top, under "People," click Sync.
- Turn off Credit cards and addresses using Google Payments.
Delete information from Autofill
If you're filling out a form and you see an Autofill suggestion, you can delete it on the page.
- In the dropdown, use your keyboard's arrow keys to select the Autofill suggestion.
- Delete it:
- Windows: Press Shift + Delete.
- Mac: Press Shift + fn + Delete.
You can also remove entries from your Autofill settings:
- Open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Settings.
- At the bottom, click Advanced.
- Under "Passwords and forms," click Autofill settings.
- To the right of the entry, click More
Remove.
Note: If an entry is saved in Google Payments, you can't delete it from Autofill. To change or delete the entry, click Edit and sign in. Then, make your changes in Google Payments.
- Open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More

- Click More tools
Clear browsing data.
- Next to "Clear the following items from," choose a time period. To clear everything, choose the beginning of time.
- Check "Autofill form data." Check or uncheck other data types you want to delete or not.
- Click Clear browsing data.
Turn off Autofill
If you don’t want to see saved personal information every time you fill out a form, you can turn Autofill off.
- Open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Settings.
- At the bottom, click Advanced.
- Under "Passwords and forms," turn off Autofill settings.
What the "Login or Payment not secure" error means
If you see a "Login not secure" or "Payment not secure" message, look at the security status:
Not secure: We suggest that you don't enter sensitive details, like passwords or credit cards. You can try to visit a more secure version of the site.
Dangerous: We suggest you don't enter any private or personal information on this page. If possible, don't use the site. Learn more about dangerous sites.
