Tried reinstalling, reset to default etc without success.

Hi there,

Welcome to the Chrome Enterprise Help Community!

I understand that you're experiencing trouble with Google updates. These are some common reasons which could be responsible for the behavior:

  • Permission issues: Google needs certain permissions to update properly. Check if it has the required permissions.
  • Connection woes: Network issues, proxies, or firewalls can block the update process.
  • Storage crunch: Make sure there's enough storage space for the update to download.
  • Policy lockdown: Conflicting group policies might be preventing updates. Check for update restrictions in your policy settings.
  • Corrupted Google Chrome installation: A corrupted Google Chrome installation may result in failure of updates. Reinstalling with profile cache clearing might help.

I'd suggest you refer to this article and try the troubleshooting tips provided within the document linked.
