Device reports

View device data

As your organization's administrator, you can use device reports to see trends or an overview of information about devices running Chrome OS and mobile devices that are used in your organization. 

Step 1: Open your device report

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Reportingand thenReportsand thenDevicesand thenMobile.
  3. (Optional) To see reports for Chrome devices, click Chrome

Step 2: Understand device reports data

Chrome

These reports appear for domains with purchased Chrome device management licenses.

Report type Description
Chrome devices (7-day active)

Number of unique Chrome devices your users have signed in to over the past week.

Chrome device release channels

Chrome release channel of your devices.

Note: We recommend that you keep most of your users on the latest stable release of Chrome OS or the Long-term support (LTS) channel and 5% of your users on the Beta channel. You may choose to also keep your IT team on the Beta or Dev channels. Learn more about auto-updating Chrome devices.

Chrome device boot modes Boot mode for your devices, where most, if not all, should be "Verified boot".
Chrome devices count by version

Number of Chrome devices running a version of Chrome.

Note: We recommend that you keep most of your users on the latest stable release of Chrome OS. We recommend you have some users and your IT team on newer versions of Chrome, which you can do by setting them to the Beta channel. Learn more about auto-updating Chrome devices.

Mobile

These reports include only mobile devices under advanced mobile management.

Google Sync data is available for Google Workspace customers only.

Report type Description
Managed devices (7DA)

Number of managed mobile devices that were active in the last 7 days.

If a device has 2 types of sync set up, such as Google Sync and iOS Sync on an iOS device, then it's counted in both corresponding data sets on the graph.

Managed devices (30DA)

Number of managed mobile devices that were active in the last 30 days.

If a device has 2 types of sync set up, such as Google Sync and iOS Sync on an iOS device, then it's counted in both corresponding data sets on the graph.

Note: By default, this report isn't displayed.

Managed users (7DA) Number of managed users (Google Sync, Android Sync, and iOS Sync) that were active in the last 7 days.
Managed users (30DA) Number of managed users (Google Sync, Android Sync, and iOS Sync) that were active in the last 30 days.

Managed Android devices (7DA) Number of Android devices, by version (Google Sync and Android Sync), that were active in the last 7 days.

Step 3: Change the data you see in reports

  1. Open your report as previously described.
  2. Click Manage Reports.
  3. To remove data from the report, next to the data name, click .
  4. To add data to the report, next to Add new column, click the Down arrow  and select options from the list.
  5. To rearrange data, drag items to new locations.
  6. Click Save.

Step 4: Export your report data

You can export your report data to a Google Sheet, or download it as a CSV file.

  1. Open your report as described in Step 1 above.
  2. (Optional) Change the data to be included in your export as described in Step 3 above.
  3. On the report, click Download .
  4. Select which columns to include and the format of the report.
  5. Click Download.

You can export up to 210,000 cells. The maximum number of rows depends on the number of columns you select.
