GoogleUpdate 二進位檔是用於在使用者裝置上更新 Google 軟體的程式。這個程式會檢查更新，並在有更新時安裝。先前，GoogleUpdate 二進位檔內同時包含企業和消費者功能，更為複雜。Chrome Enterprise Companion 將從 GoogleUpdate 中分離出來，藉此簡化架構，讓企業更靈活地開發專屬功能，同時不影響使用 GoogleUpdate 的廣大消費者。

注意事項
- GoogleUpdate 二進位檔必須安裝在 Mac 和 Windows 裝置上。
- 沒有任何政策可控制 Chrome Enterprise Companion，因為瀏覽器註冊至 Chrome Enterprise 基本版或 Chrome Enterprise 進階版時，Chrome Enterprise Companion 會連結至 GoogleUpdate。GoogleUpdate 政策不會變更，但日後會在 Chrome Enterprise Companion 中加入更多功能。
- 如果 Chrome 瀏覽器只由群組原則物件 (GPO) 或整合端點管理 (UEM) 管理，就無法安裝 Chrome Enterprise Companion。這項規定日後可能會有變動。
- GoogleUpdate 和 Chrome Enterprise Companion 不適用於 Linux。
- Chrome Enterprise Companion 大小介於 15 MB 到 40 MB 之間，具體取決於平台。
- 由於 Chrome Enterprise Companion 會連結至 GoogleUpdate，請將這些網址加入許可清單。
