Troubleshoot purchasing permissions
If your user account lacks specific permissions in Google Cloud, you might not be able to complete the purchase. Even if you are a super admin in Google Workspace, you do not automatically have the required Google Cloud roles.
Required Role: You must have the Cloud BeyondCorp Admin role, roles/beyondcorp.admin, assigned at the Organization level.
Issue: Incorrect view—Project instead of Organization
Solution
If you see an error indicating you need permissions, check that you’re viewing the Organization permissions, and not Project permissions:
- In the Google Cloud Console, go to the IAM & admin page.
- Look at the permission scope at the top of the page.
If you see Permissions for project [Name], you need to switch from the Project view to the Organization view. - Switch views:
- Click the Project/Organization menu at the top of the page. Or press Ctrl+O / ⌘+O).
- Select your Organization entry—which is your domain name. Do not select a project.
- Once you see Permissions for organization [Domain], check if your email is listed with the role Cloud BeyondCorp Admin.
How to grant access
If you have access to the Organization view but lack the role, follow these steps, or ask a Google Cloud Organization administrator to do it for you:
- In the IAM & admin > Organization view, click Grant Access.
- Enter the user's email address in the New principals field.
- In the Select a role field, type BeyondCorp and select Cloud BeyondCorp Admin,
roles/beyondcorp.admin.
Note: Do not select Client Connector Admin. - Click Save.
- Wait 2–3 minutes, then return to the Chrome Enterprise Premium purchase page to try again.
Assign licenses
Purchasing the subscription makes the licenses available, but does not automatically assign them. You must return to the Admin console to turn on features for your users.
