Use Dark theme on Google Chat

To make it easier to check conversations in Google Chat, you can change the background theme.

Turn on Dark theme

Important: Dark theme for Chat is available on Android 10 and up.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Google Chat .
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings and then Theme.
  3. Tap Dark.
