Use Dark theme on Google Chat

To make it easier to check conversations in Google Chat, you can change the background theme.

Turn on Dark theme

Important: On your browser, even if you change Gmail to Dark theme, Chat still uses a light background. Learn more about Chat in Gmail.

On your computer, open Google Chat.
At the top right, go to Settings .
Under "Appearance," select Dark.
