What you need
To receive meeting recaps with Gemini, turn on Google Workspace smart features. Learn about smart features & controls for Google products.
Get meeting recaps in Google Chat
You can use Gemini with meeting recaps in Google Chat to easily follow up with decisions and action items after meetings.
If “Take notes for me” is started during the meeting and there’s a chat message, you’ll get a recap that includes:
- The meeting summary with highlights
- Suggested next steps for after the meeting
- Links to shared documents or files
Tip: A recap won't be posted if "Send notes to" in Meet is set to "Hosts and co-hosts only."
Find your meeting recaps
Meeting recaps appear automatically in the meeting's group chat once the meeting ends.
- On your computer, open Google Chat

- Go to the meeting conversation.
- At the end of the message history, you can find a card with the recap.
- To delete the recap, at the top right, click More

.Tips:
- Anyone can delete the recap.
- If you delete the recap, the Gemini notes doc remains in Google Drive but the meeting summary in the chat is lost permanently.
Give feedback about Gemini meeting recaps
Google Workspace with Gemini is constantly learning and may not be able to support your request.
If you get a suggestion that’s inaccurate or that you feel is unsafe, you can let us know by submitting feedback. Your feedback can help improve AI-assisted Workspace features and broader Google efforts in AI.
Because feedback may be human readable, do not submit data that contains personal, confidential, or sensitive information.
- At the top right of the generated output, click Good summary

- In the pop-up window, you can select the data you want to share along with your feedback, with additional context and output. If you don’t want to share certain data, you can uncheck it.
