Billing for transferred customers

For Google Cloud Platform billing, costs, transactions, and invoices, go to your Google Cloud Console.

Transferred accounts with a service, such as Google Workspace, are treated as a new subscription, and you’re billed for licenses.

All of the customer's services transfer to your reseller management and you must be able to resell those services. For example, a customer can’t transfer only their Google Workspace account or Drive storage licenses.

Annual Plan closeout charges

Annual Plan (Yearly Payments)

When transferred, customers do not receive a refund for the prepaid period of service. We recommend that you transfer customers already on the Annual Plan (Yearly Payments) at the end of their service year, during renewal.

Annual Plan (Monthly Payments)

The customer is charged directly until the transfer date. The final charge is calculated on a prorated basis.

Billing plans

The console lists the customer's eligible billing plans.

Customers currently on a Flexible Plan

  • Choose on a new Flexible Plan or Annual Plan (either version). The Annual plan option is not available for add-on products, such as Drive storage and Vault.

Customer currently on an Annual Plan

  • Choose on a new Annual Plan (either version).
  • Choose a Flexible Plan if within  30 days of their renewal date.

User license requirements

A customer’s new subscription must have a number of licenses greater than or equal to their previous commitment. For example, if their current commitment is 200 user licenses, you can’t reduce their commitment to 150 user licenses during the transfer.

Exceptions: The customer is currently on an Annual Plan and within 30 days of the end of their term. Then, you can enter a new order for a lower number of licenses.

30-day free trials for transferred customers

If your customer's subscription is in a 30-day trial, you can transfer to either:
  • A reseller 30-day trial.
  • A new reseller-managed subscription.

If your customer has completed a 30-day trial, you can only transfer them into a new, reseller-managed subscription.
