Google is making the following changes for Google Workspace customers with Business and Enterprise editions:
- We stopped selling the Gemini for Google Workspace add-ons in January 2025, and we added AI features to Google Workspace Business and Enterprise editions.
- Price changes for existing subscriptions with more than 10 user licenses took effect starting March 17, 2025.
- Price changes for existing subscriptions with 1-10 user licenses will take effect starting July 7, 2025.
What will happen to Gemini add-on subscriptions?
If you previously purchased a Gemini for Workspace add-on, you will continue to have access to the add-on’s features, but we stopped charging for the add-on subscription in January 2025.
As a result of the addition of AI features directly in Google Workspace Business and Enterprise plans, we made changes to your existing Gemini order in January 2025. These changes include:
- You are no longer being charged for the add-on add-ons after January 31, 2025. You may receive a $0 invoice depending on your billing setup.
- Prepaid contracts were credited and prorated. If you have prepaid for your Gemini for Workspace subscription, we credited and prorated the credit as of February 1, 2025. Credits will be automatically applied to future Google Workspace and Google Cloud invoices.
- No longer renewing paid Gemini for Workspace add-on orders. The Gemini for Workspace add-ons are no longer available for purchase or renewal.
- Converting Gemini for Workspace add-on online annual plans to flexible plans. In order to ensure you will no longer be charged for the Gemini for Workspace add-on, we switched your online subscription to a $0 monthly flexible plan subscription after January 31, 2025.
- Cancelling Gemini for Workspace add-on offline orders. This means you will no longer be charged for Gemini for Workspace after January 31, 2025. Your Gemini for Google Workspace add-on subscription will be removed at your contract end date.

Which products are affected, and what are the new prices?
The following Google Workspace editions will have updated subscription pricing starting March 17, 2025:
- Business Starter
- Business Standard
- Business Plus
- Enterprise Starter
- Enterprise Standard
- Enterprise Plus

Timing of subscription price changes
Price changes for existing Google Workspace subscriptions with between 1 and 10 user licenses will begin no sooner than July 7, 2025. Price changes for existing subscriptions with more than 10 user licenses took effect starting March 17, 2025.
Price updates for any new subscriptions took effect January 16, 2025, including subscription downgrades, upgrades, and plan type changes.
If you have an Annual/Fixed-Term plan, your subscription price will be automatically updated to the latest pricing no sooner than July 7, 2025, or on your next subscription renewal date (whichever is later).
Switch from Flexible to Annual Plan
If your customer has a subscription on the Flexible Plan, they may want to consider switching their subscription to the Annual/Fixed-Term plan for the lowest monthly per-user price

How will I be notified of the changes to my customers’ subscription?We'll notify you by email at least 30 days before your customers’ price changes. If a customer has more than one subscription, the notifications might occur at different times.
Yes. Google Workspace product subscriptions in all payment currencies and plan types will be subject to applicable price increases starting on the following dates:
- March 17, 2025 for accounts with more than 10 user licenses.
- July 7, 2025 for accounts with 1-10 user licenses.
With these updates, the subscription price for additional users will depend on plan type and when you add more users.
If your customer has an existing Annual/Fixed-Term Plan, these changes will not impact your customers’ contract pricing until the next subscription renewal from the following dates:
- March 17, 2025: Subscriptions greater than 10 user licenses
- July 14, 2025: Subscriptions with 1 to 10 user licenses
If your customer has a Flexible Plan, after the customer's subscription prices have been updated, any additional user licenses purchased will be subject to the updated pricing.
Pricing adjustments are applicable to new and existing customers with one of the above product subscriptions, after any applicable discount period ends.
The total monthly charge for a Google Workspace subscription depends on the Google Workspace edition, billing plan, number of users or licenses, and subscription price.
If your customer’s subscription price is adjusted in the middle of a month, the price of their subscription will be prorated based on the number of days at the previous vs. updated subscription price.
If your customer has an existing Annual/Fixed-term plan, price changes will not impact their current contract or any renewal event before March 17, 2025.
With the Flexible Plan, you pay for as many users as you have each month and can add and remove users at any time. If you add or remove users during any month, we prorate your payments. For example, you add a user on April 1 and delete them on April 15, we charge you for only half a month of service.
Suspended users are charged at the same rate as active users.

Generative AI features are not included in custom editions of Google Workspace, which are subject to terms restricting usage, functionality, or both. Examples of custom editions include Deskless GSE or Google Workspace Enterprise Essentials (Data Region Edition).
