Reach out to your connections

Connections from Google+ are shown on search results and job listings to help remind you who you can contact for more information about jobs at Google. Keep in mind that this data is user generated, so any person can list any employer, no matter whether or not they work for that employer -- so use good judgement as to what information you share.

Profiles that meet these conditions may be shown:

  • List Google as their current employer.
  • Privacy settings allow you to see their employer.
  • You are in each other’s circles.

If you have a lot of people in your circles, our careers site will only scan a sample of them to keep your browsing experience speedy. Visit Google+ directly to see all of your connections. We will also suggest connections that you may know so that you can add them to your circles. Learn more about circles here.

Email your connections:

  1. Click “View more” on the “Your Connections” widget in the right nav bar or click “View connections” on the job description page. This brings up a window with the sample of connections we found from your Google+ circles.
  2. In this window, you have a few options:
    • If you have the email addresses for your connections, click the blue “Reach out” button at the bottom of the window. This will open your default email client with a new, empty mail window so you can send them a message.
    • Click on any name or profile picture to view that person’s Google+ profile. From there, you can reach out to them via Google+.
    • If you have a lot of people in your Circles, we may not list all of the eligible people who list Google as their employer. Clicking “Search on Google+” will take you over to Google+ to look for any other connections that might list Google as their employer.
