Reports that require download

Instant Reporting aims to provide you with almost instant reporting data within Campaign Manager 360 as you format your report. Sometimes, however, it's not possible to provide the data in a sufficient way within Campaign Manager 360 and you’re directed to save and download the report. This can be for a number of reasons such as the time it takes to generate the report is too long, the size of the report is too large, or the report is too complex to display within Campaign Manager 360.

Some metrics and dimensions are labeled as “Download only” that only allows the report to be downloaded in order to view the data. Click the Download button to view the report of these metrics and dimensions offline.

Using the regex filter for reports

You have the option of adding free text filters or regex filters to filter data in your reports instead of selecting existing filters.

If you use the same regex filter more than once in your report, the report will be download only.

With regex filters, you have the option of filtering out results using the “OR” and “AND” operators.

Note: You can only use regex filters for the following dimensions:

Display & Video 360

  • Budget Segment Name
  • Domain
  • Keyword
  • Subdomain

Campaign Manager 360

  • Domain
  • Subdomain
  • Natural Search Engine Country
  • Natural Search Engine Property
  • Natural Search Landing Page Query String
  • Natural Search Landing Page
  • Natural Search Processed Landing Page Query String
  • Natural Search Processed Landing Page
  • Natural Search Query
  • Paid Search Ad Group
  • Paid Search Ad
  • Paid Search Advertiser
  • Paid Search Agency
  • Paid Search Bid Strategy
  • Paid Search Campaign
  • Paid Search Engine Account
  • Paid Search Keyword
  • Paid Search Landing Page URL

Filtering using an OR operator

When the same free text filters are added to the report multiple times, it uses an OR operator.

For example, if you add a filter to see how your campaign is doing on websites with domain names containing “shoes” and another filter for websites with domain names containing “bags”, the filtered results will generate data for websites with domain names containing either “bags” or “shoes”.

To use regex filters using an OR operator, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Instant & offline within the Reports menu.
  2. Click New Instant Report or edit an existing report.
  3. In the report builder, click the filter icon filter.
  4. Choose a dimension to filter by.
  5. In the dropdown, select any of the options available for type of matching.
  6. Enter the filter value.

Filtering using an AND operator

If you need to retrieve results based on multiple filtering conditions on the same filter using the AND operator, you can use the “regex match” option by following the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Instant & offline within the Reports menu.
  2. Click New Instant Report or edit an existing report.
  3. In the report builder, click the filter icon filter.
  4. Choose a dimension to filter by.
  5. In the dropdown, select regex matches as the type of matching.
  6. Enter a regex matching expression as the filter value. Read the example below on how to get the regex matching expression.

Example

If you’re looking for filtered data to examine how the keywords “checkout” and “sale” are performing, you can use the following regex matching expression: (checkout.*sale|sale.*checkout)

To generate similar regex matching expressions, you can use AI tools and enter prompts like “give me a regex to filter strings that <the filtering condition> without using look aheads”.
