The following alerts are provided at the advertiser level:

  • Floodlight activity tag format: This alert will notify you if any Floodlight activities are using legacy tag formats such as iframe and image. We recommend updating to the global site tag (gtag) format for improved click through conversion attribution capabilities and compatibility with future industry standards. Learn how to Use the Google tag for Floodlight activities.
  • Enhanced attribution: This alert will notify you if your Floodlight configuration doesn't have enhanced attribution enabled. When enabled, enhanced attribution enhances measurement accuracy by appending a DoubleClick Identifier (DCLID) to all landing page URLs. This signal is used to strengthen click through conversion attribution using the Google tag or Google Tag Manager for attribution. These tagging solutions make it possible to gather a click ID such as DCLID and GCLID and use it for more accurate attribution. Learn more about Enhanced attribution.
  • Tracking tag misuse: This alert will notify you when the volume of your clicks are significantly higher than the volume of impressions for a period of time, indicating that your click and impression tracking tags are potentially mixed up. Mixing up click and impression tags can lead to inaccurate performance metrics, costly billing discrepancies, and increased support effort for processing refunds. Learn more about setting up an impression pixel and click tracker.
  • Enhanced conversions: This alert will notify you about the status of your Floodlight activities when enhanced conversions is enabled. To allow Floodlight activities to capture hashed personally identifiable information (PII) when users convert, enhanced conversions must first be enabled at the Floodlight configuration level, and then at each individual Floodlight activity level. The hashed PII is then compared against Google signed-in user data for more accurate attribution. To view this alert in Campaign Manager 360, your advertiser must be linked to Search Ads 360. Once linked, this alert will be visible on the Diagnostics pages of both Campaign Manager 360 and Search Ads 360.
    • Note: Enhanced conversions only work with Floodlight activities that use the Google tag format.
  • Review placements with high default ad serving: This alert will notify you if your reporting data indicates that a placement is serving its default ad at above a 10% threshold in the last 24 hours. A high default ad serving ratio suggests that the intended creatives aren’t delivering as expected. Potential causes for this issue include incorrect start or end dates for the placement, traffic that doesn’t meet the specified targeting criteria, active frequency capping limits, or the incorrect tag type being used for the placement. Learn more about why your default ad serves too often.
  • Offline conversion import: This alert will notify you about the status of your offline conversions that you uploaded using the Campaign Manager 360 API. To make sure that your offline conversions are accurately tracked, this alert shows the status of your conversions, the descriptions of your issues and the percentage of affected events, and the past performance of your events in the “History” section. Learn more About offline conversions diagnostics.
  • Conversion categories: This alert will notify you if your linked Floodlight activities are using the generic “Default” category. When the default category is used, bidding algorithms receive a less informative signal, which can lead to inefficient bidding and wasted ad spend. To fix this, click the alert in the Diagnostics Hub to navigate to your Floodlight activity list. From there, update your activities to a specific conversion category such as “Purchase” or “Lead” to provide a stronger signal to the bidding algorithms.
  • Conversions using multiple data sources: These alerts will notify you if there are setup issues preventing proper deduplication. For conversions using multiple data sources to deduplicate properly, a unique Transaction ID must be passed in both your online tag and your offline data upload. If the Transaction ID is missing, duplicated, or misconfigured, deduplication will fail. To resolve these issues, review the affected Floodlight activities and ensure that both your Google tag and your offline data source are passing a unique Transaction ID. Common alerts for conversions using multiple data sources include:
    • Offline data source not found: Your connected offline data source is not sending data.
    • Tag is firing but not passing Transaction ID: Your tag is working but is missing the Transaction ID required to deduplicate events.
    • No Transaction ID matches: There is a low overlap rate, less than 10 percent, between the Transactions IDs sent by your tag and your offline data.
    • Duplicate or misconfigured Transaction IDs: Your transaction IDs are not unique, which negatively affects deduplication.
    • No recent data: Your tag has not sent data in the last 7 days.
Note: Avoid using the “Unique”, “Per Session”, or “Standard” counting methods with conversions using multiple data sources. Deduplication relies on the Transaction ID and using the “Unique” or “Persession” activity types can conflict with how transactions are processed. “Transactions” or “Items Sold”are recommended to use instead.
