Brand Controls and verification

Domain blocking in Brand Controls

In Brand Controls, you can specify the domains you want to allow or flag using a domain list. You can have one active domain list at a time. Each domain list has two sections:

  • Allowlist: The list of domains that are allowed to serve. Ads will serve on allowed domains even if the website is flagged by other brand safety controls.
  • Flagged domains: The list of domains that are flagged for ad blocking.

Each account can have 1,000 domains on each list, and a total of 20 domain lists.

Create a domain list

  1. In your Campaign Manager 360 account, go to the Verification page.
  2. Click Account settings.
  3. Click Domain lists to open the section.
  4. Click the Plus icon.
  5. Name your domain list.
  6. Add domains to your list.
  7. Click Submit.

Add domains to a list

  1. In your Brand Controls account settings, go to the “Domain lists” section.
  2. Click the New button:
    1. On the Allowlist tab to add domains to allow.
    2. On the Flagged domains tab to add domains to flag.
  3. Enter the domain name. To enter multiple domains, add each domain to a new line.
  4. Click Submit.

Note that flagged domains used by ad blocking to prevent your ads from serving on domains that you flagged. Ads will be blocked only if ad blocking is enabled. Learn more about ad blocking.

Subdomains in domain lists

You can include second level subdomains (like blog.example.com) but parent and subdomains cannot exist on the same list. If your list includes subdomains, and you wish to add their parent domain, the subdomains will be deleted. If your list contains a parent domain, and you wish to add its subdomains, you must edit or delete the parent first.

Remove domains to a list

  1. In your Brand Controls account settings, go to the “Domain lists” section.
  2. Click the checkbox next to the domain you want to remove. Or click the checkbox next to the “Domain” label to select all domains on the page.
  3. Click the Delete button.

Change the domain list

  1. In your Brand Controls account settings, go to the “Domain lists” section.
  2. Click the dropdown with the current domain list name.
  3. Select the domain list you want or “None assigned” to remove domain lists.
  4. Click Apply.
