How do I view the contents of an .ICS file in a readable format? 0 Recommended Answers 1 Reply 0 Upvotes
One of the ways our corporation makes use of the calendar is to schedule customer appointments for members of staff via the Google Calendars.
This, in turn, also disables access to the calendar where the appointments have been set and remain rescheduled.
Note: A google administrator can still see the user's calendar entries, but normal users have lost access.
These appointments need to be re-assigned amongst other members of the staff by a group of office ops staff who manage the appointments in the calendars, but in such cases, the calendar is no longer accessible, so they cannot look at what the appointments were, and cannot redistribute these appointments amongst other members of staff.
Currently, there appear to be 2 ways of managing such calendar appointments.
1) Temporarily re-activate the Google account, then the calendar will be re-activated, and ops staff can then access the calendar entries and relocate the appointments to other members of staff.
2) or, the second option is, the google administrator can export the calendar into an ICS file. We cannot expect ops users managing these calendar appointments to import this file into their own calendar.
So, the remaining question here is, how can the contents of an ICS file be viewed in a readable format so the appointments can be manually redistributed?
