How do I ensure that public calendar private default settings also work for invited meetings? 0 Recommended Answers 1 Reply 0 Upvotes

Hi, I am having some concerns with the privacy and visibility settings of my google calendar. Specifically, I have set up my calendar to public so I can see it in my outlook using the .ics link. However, since my outlook is used only for work activities, I do not want any of my private information to appear. So far, when I create an event directly in my google calendar it does show up as "free/busy" in my outlook as expected. However, when I create an event in my google calendar through my "Windows Mail" application or when I accept a meeting invite from others, I can see all of the event details in my outlook as if the "Private" (Free/busy) default visibility setting does not kick in. Therefore, I would like to know how I can assure that the default visibility setting "Private" (Free/busy) works regardless of the source of the meeting invite for a public calendar. Please advise.

So far, the only way I have been controlling this feature for the cases where the default "private" setting has not worked, has been by going to each of those events and changing the visibility to "Private". This requires me to pay close attention to each meeting invite to then change the visibility... this is not ideal for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
