Shared Calendars are not listed by the Android Google Calendar App.
1
My boss has shared his company Google Calendar with me.  When I use the web app, I can see it listed and I can see the items in that calendar listed in my calendar view.

When I use the Android Google Calendar app, however, I cannot see any of this.

There are TWO people -- my boss and my co-worker -- who have the exact same problem with the exact same calendar.  They can see it on the web app on their PCs, but NOT on their Android phones.

On the Android app, the shared calendar is NOT listed when I open the "drawer" (menu button at top left) of the app.  SO there is no check mark to select.

The shared calendar is NOT listed when I open Settings, even after tapping on "Show more".

I have taken all the steps I have seen in other forum articles about this same problem:

- I have turned off Calendar Sync and turned it back on
- I have made sure I have plenty of free storage on my phone
- I have made sure that I am using the latest Official Google Calendar app from the Google Play Store (there are no more updates available for my phone, for any apps)
- I have cleared the cache (and storage, even) for the Calendar app
- I have removed my gmail account from the Calendar app and have re-added it
- I have force-stopped the calendar app
- I have restarted my phone

One of the suggestions I have seen is to uninstall and re-install the calendar app.  How do I uninstall it???  It's a pre-installed app that came with my phone.  However, I *have* uninstalled all UPDATES to the app and have re-installed them from the Google Play Store.

I am running a fully-updated Android Pie on a Pixel 2 XL.  No updates are currently available for it.

I need to see these calendars wherever I go.  I cannot lug my PC around with me.

Do SHARED CALENDARS even work on the Android Google Calendar app?

I did that already

I said this in my original post: "On the Android app, the shared calendar is NOT listed when I open the "drawer" (menu button at top left) of the app.  SO there is no check mark to select."

I have the same issue. From my research I'm pretty certain this isn't supported (viewing a shared calendar) in the Android App. Would be very interested if/when this would be supported.

Philip,

Apologies if you've already tried this, but if you don't see the calendars listed in the 'drawer', scroll down to Settings and see if they're shown there. If they are, click on them and make sure they're being synced.
