With no prompt from me, Google started deleting past events (on my desktop and app) for only ONE of my imported calendars. I need to see the past events. They are not in trash and no settings have changed or are different from the calendars which show past events. I deleted the importated calendar and re-imported and no change.

Not sure if this will help you with your problem or not but i've had problems the last 2 times i upgraded phones with the google calender on my phone not syncing the whole calender (for me that's going back to 2006). It was a real paing in the butt however finally i found this post on android central which had the fix it for me near the last couple of posts - see the posts by astan#AC on 05/03/2014 and ccarrot on 22/11/2017. I used the method described by ccarrot and now google calender on my new galaxy note 9 syncs with my online google calender all the way back to 2006. I hope it helps others on this forum.

Did you manage to resolve this issue? I am having the same problem! It used to do this all the time and I'd find my events in the bin folder for no reason. Now it's started deleting past year's events and I can't find them anywhere, which is a nightmare.

I have similar issue - looks like google stopped to store older events than those provided in URL calendar feed. My case: I'm syncing Basecamp 3 "My Schedule" with google calendar. Basecamp includ only one month back in .ics calendar feed so in this feed there's no events older that 30 days (more or less and according only to "My Schedule").

Until this year it wasn't problem for me because google stored all older events that was previously synced.. Now I can see only events from last 30 days and ALL OLDER than 30 days events was deleted. I'm pissed a bit because I used these data and now they're gone :(

Does anyone know if it's possible somehow to force google calendar to store older data if they was synced before?

Ive had the same problem and just found this question thread because of it.  Good news, I did just notice after diving deeper that it is only missing past events off of my phones calendar app not the desktop.  So the earlier answer that software updates must not be getting past events looks to be true. All of my work events from 2018 are gone when I look at both my phone and my desktop calendars. This is unfortunate as I really needed this information and did not know Google would be deleting some of my content. Google, is there any way to recover events that you have deleted?

The very first reply to this thread provides the answer - Clinton Carter on 11/18/2018 provided a link to another post and he listed the two entries to read.  I tried the solution that he said worked for him and it fixed my wife's calendar.  When we switched to her new phone it only sync'd back to the middle of 2018.  After following solution procedure, I got everything to sync all the way back to her first entry in 2012.
