I created recurring tasks to pay my monthly bills, but when I completed the March occurrence (first time trying) the April occurrence did not create. What am I doing wrong? See snippet

Hi Kara,
When you create the event, are you clicking on the Repeats option and filling in the information there?
You'll hopefully see something like the following before you save it.
Once you've saved it, you should see tasks showing each month in your calendar. BTW, the two screenshots were taken at different times so don't match!
Please let us know how you get on.

Yes, that is what I see when I enter the tasks as recurring. The next occurrence shows in the calendar, but it doesn't show in the tasks window. In fact it shows twice in the calendar. seems like there are a lot of glitches with this.

I'm having the same issue I believe. Once a Repeating Task is completed, it goes to Completed but does not list a new instance in the sidebar  Tasks however, it does list the next instance on the inline Calendar view. Either way, this does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling for my bill tracking... I posted in both Gmail and Calendar forums and have received no replies. What happened to the awesome group of volunteers?

I'll add in here that I'm seeing this occur as well.  My recurring/repeating tasks show up correctly on my calendar, but once the first instance is marked "Done" no additional instances of that recurring/repeating task appear in the task view (this same issue is present in the Tasks Android App and on the web in Calendar).

Also of note, the Repeating events that are in Google Calendar view are not linked so if I update the first instance it will not apply to the rest of them. I get the feeling once this is fixed I'm going to have a bunch of unconnected Task spam for years to come... Anyone able to comment or link to a post with comment on this subject?

I am having the same issue for a monthly task to repeat on the 15th. When I mark it complete, it just adds it to the completed tasks and does not automatically change the date to the next month to complete. It does show up on my calendar, but I primarily look for things I need to do on the task side bar to my gmail inbox. I imagine that the quarterly task I set up will have similar problems.

I was excited to learn that Google tasks could be recurring - but the functionality is broken and changing the date manually defeats the purpose. Google - please fix this!

I really don't want to go to Outlook and was SO excited when I saw Google now has recurring tasks.  Unfortunately, it doesn't function correctly.  I need my task list to be correct.  I'm an accountant with 40+ monthly bookkeeping clients.  Please help Google!

Having the same issue. Shows on calendar, but not on task list. I would think this would be a pretty important feature. Having to review the calendar via desktop is not helpful.

Please please Google - fix this! I have so many personal to-dos and teach new Girl Scout leaders how to organize all their troop tasks. I want so bad to recommend Google Tasks to everyone but can't without reliable task recurrence. Please please fix! Thanks!!!

This has been an issue for as long as I can remember, and still is in November 2019.

I'm not sure why Google ignores things like this... please assist.
