Contacts birthdays not displayed in Google calendar

I read many forums and tried all possible solutions before I post here, but my problem is not solved. I don't see birthdays of my contacts, neither on my computer nor in my Android device.

What I've done:
- I created contacts and set birthdays. The birthdays are not visible in calendar
- I check that google services are linked

- On my computer I check, uncheck, check again Birthday calendar

- I disabled and re-enabled contact synchronization with Google Calendar in Android
- I cleared Browser Cache
- I cleared Google Calendar App Cache
- I enabled, disabled and re-enabled birthdays calendar in settings.
See below the settings of my birthdays calendar. Maybe someone finds something wrong:

I'm desperate. I tried so many settings. I spent many hours. Nothing helps. Does anybody has an Idea?
Thanks in advance!!

hi Julien A

Are you in Germany? If so "As part of an agreement with a German regulator, Google is making changes to how it processes personal data. As a result, this feature [birthdays] may be less complete or not available."

Yes I am in Germany.
I am surprised about your statement. Do you have source of this information?
It must be really new because this feature was working fine in Germany some weeks ago.

I think you refer to this article

Birthday feature in calendar should work in Germany as soon as you link Contacts service.

In the past Contacts service was not linked in my settings. But now it is linked for several days.

My feeling is that Google is not updating my settings correctly and it's not linking my contacts service as it should. Is there a way I can check if Contacts service is actually correctly linked? How could I test that?

Hi Julien

My source is our support team in Google who provided me this information. If you go to this particular article you should see the information I've quoted: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/13748346?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&authuser=2

And yes, it is a fairly new change but there have been multiple posts about it on this forum.

This is not the issue. Please don't keep trying to find a solution, it will just be frustrating for you.

I have visited this help page several times, but I haven’t noticed the additional information regarding the German regulator.

Please don't keep trying to find a solution, it will just be frustrating for you.

I will take your advice, but I have to admit it’s already quite frustrating. It’s especially disheartening to see the birthday feature in my calendar and not be able to use it as I could in the past. I hope Google will find a solution for German users soon.

Hello I only noticed the problem now. Ot 2024. Solution: Install an APP for the calendar, e.g. Business Calendar, on your smartphone. There the link is made with data from the address book. For the PC I have Thunderbird with the ADD ON birthday - so the BG of the contacts are available again. The only thing left out is the WEB Google Calendar.

Does this also work if the contancts are only stored in google and not on the phone?
My Samsung calender does also not display the birthdays from google contatcs, it just shows birthdays from contacts stored on the phone...
