How do you sync an outlook calendar to google calendar on an android phone?

I've managed to do it online, but I can't find any option to 'add' or 'sync' calendars in the google calendar app.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Nigel,

In addition to Tara's instructions you can actually allow the Google Calendar App to access your Outlook calendars (on Android at least), so you only need to add the Microsoft account in Outlook - but they don't make it obvious...

The trick is to go to the Outlook App Settings, click on the Account Info for your MS Email account and enable the option "Sync Calendars".

You'll be prompted to "Allow" Outlook access to your phone's calendars, and should then be able to view and manage your Outlook calendars directly from the Google Calendar App. If they don't show up, go to the Google Calendar App menu and check they are listed and enabled.

Hi Nigel,

I do not use Outlook personally however have found the following information that was used successfully by a previous user in attempt to help.

The default Google apps on Android don't support Outlook integration. However, you can view your Google calendar events using the Outlook mobile app.
  1. Download Microsoft Outlook on your Android phone.
  2. Launch Outlook and add your Microsoft and Gmail email accounts to it.
  3. Move to the Calendar tab. Tap the calendar icon in the upper-left corner.
  4. You can check your Google and Outlook calendars in the list. Enable the checkmark beside the calendars you want to see in action.
  5. Use the top menu to check your calendar in Day, 3-Day, and Month view
  6. Hope that helps

Hi

I have the same issue as Nigel. I have added my Outlook calendar to Google, and events are showing up fine in the browser calendar. However, on my phone, the Outlook events do not show. I cannot use the method descriebed above since our company have disabeled the ability to add our outlook email to google.

Thank you for your help!

The other suggestions would only allow you to use the Calendar app itself to view both google calendars & outlook calendars. If you want to actually sync them (ie copy events between them), I don't think it's possible do within the Android. You'd have to either do it manually or use any third-party tool to achieve that, something like XCalSync.

Disclaimer: I created XCalSync to make this easy for me when I had such a similar problem.
