Google Tasks Notifications not consistent iPhone

I've used Google calendar reminders for years and had zero issue with notifications. Now that tasks has taken over for reminders I get very sporadic notifications for time-based tasks. Some tasks notify me but most of them do not. The only sort of pattern I can figure out is that tasks that are created in Google Calendar do not ever send notifications and some that are created in the Tasks app do, but not all. Seems very very buggy to me.
Device is an iPhone 13 (iOS 16.5.1) Here is what I have tried so far.

- Delete reinstall Tasks app (several times)
- Delete reinstall Google calendar and Gmail app
- Verify notifications for task and calendar are on in every place on iphone.
- Restart iPhone and hard reset
- Check for any iPhone and app updates.
- Check to make sure battery status is not set to limit certain apps.
- Delete recurring tasks and adding back again.

Thanks for any insight.

I have the same problem and judging from the forums around the web, and here, this iOS and hardware problem world wide.
I can NOT change the sound of the notifications from Google calendar.
You now can't even set a sound for Google calendar.

The sound apple has permanently set is a quiet triddle that can't be heard if the phone is anywhere but in you hand your staring at it. I carry my phone in my back pocket.
I've missed Dr appointments due to this. That can be dangous for some.

The native calendar has those appointments in it, I set the sound the load bong....nothing. Not a peep, silence.
I'm deep in the Apple ecosystem and don't want to change.

Yes I'm pissed. I'm aslo angry witht he lack of response from Apple in the customer forums.
They dole out the same troubleshooting steps WE.HAVE.ALL.DONE.MANY.TIMES!
One was to resetthe phone. That is a HARD no.
I, and 1000s otherswoeld wide, need to be able to set a loud notification sound for Google calendar.
Oh to have been a fly on the wall when this bone headed deveoper decision was made and actully approved.
It's almost like Apple doesn't believe we use your phones for anythign other than calls, text, and music.
I truly hope you are paying attention and will fix this....soon.
