How do I make the family calendar visible to all my children?

I have a family calendar set up through Google Family Link. My wife and daughter can both see the calendar, no issues, but my son (aged 11) cannot. I have looked at the forum to see if there are any solutions, but cannot find anything. I have tried removing then re-installing his account from our chromebook, but no joy. I have also checked the web version of the calendar and the issue is the same - he can see all the other shared calendars, just not the family calendar. Can anyone help me share the family calendar among the whole family?

Thanks to those who have responded. Not sure what the issue was and still not solved. I have found a work around though, which was to create a completely new calendar and share it with all family members - this has worked.

I found this on my blog site:

It should give you a step-by-step process that helps you easily create a family calendar. I hope this answer helps! Thanks for your question.

I think I found the answer in that blog post - I don't think they can see the family calendar until they're 13, which seems dumb, but I'm having the same issue with my 11 year old's phones.

Ok so this 13+ age restriction is annoying. I set family sharing up was so everyone could share a calendar using our google home hub. I will use the work around as recommended but as it is a family hub service, a calendar would be pretty base functionality.

Same issue here. My son and daughter are both under 11 but it would be nice for them to see their own game schedules on the calendar. What do yall think of the option of changing their ages as Google sees it? I just don't want to set us up for issues with other features. Thoughts?

I have a similar problem, but I'm over 30... I can not see the calendars my father created.

I did not have an age set in my account. Why does a calendar has an age restriction anyhow? This makes NO sense.

It has nothing to do with the age restriction. I have a child over the age of 13 and still...nothing.

I have two sons, twins -- the family calendar appeared on neither account.  For one son, I was able to add the family calendar.  In my account, I opened Settings for the Family calendar, under the "Integrate Calendar" section, copy the CalendarId.  Use that in the Children's account to "Add Calendar"  The family calendar now shows up in the "Other Calendars" List.  For the other son, I received a message that says "You do not have access to Family's calendar"

I created a family calendar so that my daughter could see our schedule on her kids' tablet and thought it would help her learn about time management. Why is it restricted to 13+?

Ok, y'all, I figured it out! This was so frustrating and I'll try to walk you through how I was able to add my third child to the family calendar. NO IDEA WHY SHE DIDN'T SHOW UP AUTOMATICALLY... BUT... It's all good now.

This involves some technical aspects but I'll try to simplify it as much as possible:

1. Open your calendar (the head of household calendar).
2. Hide all calendars, reminders, tasks etc until only your Family calendar is selected and visible.
3. Google "google API explorer calendar list" or go to: https://developers.google.com/calendar/v3/reference/calendarList/list
4. Although it shouldn't affect this, make sure your popup blocker is temporarily turned off.
5. On the right hand side there should be a menu that says "Try this API"; fill out the following:  (please keep in mind that Google will update their user interface from time to time so it may look different for you depending on when you see this.)
a) Set showDeleted as false.
b) Set showHidden as false.
c) Click on "Show standard parameters"
d) Type in the fields section: items(description,id,summary)
e) Click the execute button.
6. Select the head of household email address (probably yours)
7. It should automatically execute the code and you may have to scroll down to see it.
8. Look for the "summary": "Family"  Right above it there should be "id": "family(random code)@group.calendar.google.com"
9. Copy this part of your unique code -->family(random code)@group.calendar.google.com
10. Go to your child's calendar.
11. Click on the plus sign (Add other calendars) and select Subscribe to calendars
12. Copy it in the bar and press ENTER

It should automatically add the calendar! Hope this helps :)

I followed your directions step by step, and when I got to the end, it says "Cannot add calendar "Family" - You do not have access to Family's calendar."

Now what?!

Didn't work for me either. I've had it out with Google about this. Family Link is a jacked-up product. There has to be a middle path for parents to manage their children, their children have access to the functional apps they need and abide by the law and Google policy about the 13 and younger.
