I know this gets posted often, so I'm here to sound the alarm again. I now receive up to six alerts in Gmail for every calendar event I have. I am receiving alerts for calendars that have all notification turned off. How is this happening? How do I make it stop? Please see the attached screenshot. The one notification is enough. Please help me stop the alerts.

I have this same problem, mostly (for some reason) for people's birthdays. (It doesn't happen for birthdays automatically added to my calendar via Facebook or Contacts or the like, just the events I add manually.) Last Friday, I got 53 notifications for a single event! Any word on how I can fix this?

Me too -- I must be insane to use this calendar but otherwise it is excellent. Help! Help! Help!

I just got 53 notifications for the same event too and so did the people invited.  Is there a solution for this problem??  I've also had issues where the same email and attachments are sent multiple times.  It's crazy and unacceptable.  I expect more from Google.

Same here, but I see no solutions to this problem. I keep changing my settings and it says error each time I do it. So annoying

Something has to be done!! it's driving me batty, getting multiple email alerts for an event I sent one person, we've both deleted the event and we are both getting repetitive emails every 15 -20 minutes. I've tried everything to make it stop. I see there are many of us with similar problems, why are they not heeded our stress calls.

Adding my name to the chorus. 10 alerts for my brother's birthday today. I love him., but I  don't need 10 alerts.

Same issue here has anyone found a solution? Just started out of the blue this past Friday and can’t figure out rhyme or reason.

I echo the previous solutions - it’s Apple Calendar that’s causing the issue - either on Mac or iPhone or iPad or whatever. Either turn off syncing google calendar to your Apple calendar or delete the events you don’t want notifications for (delete from Apple calendar not from google since in my case somehow the event was only on my Apple calendar)
